Culture Crush: Why Rio de Janeiro Stole My Heart with its People and Food 🇧🇷

If you've read my previous blogs or are a follower of @thetravelhottie on Instagram, then you know I have been wanting to visit Rio de Janeiro since I landed on #braziltiktok. I was heavily influenced & decided I needed to skip all of my other destinations such as Lisbon, Paris & Ghana, & see Rio really quick.

Im happy I made that decision; especially since Paris is prepping for the Olympics so it's crazy crowded.

It took a trio of flights to reach this vibrant paradise, but oh, was it worth every moment of anticipation! Landing in Rio, I found myself in an enchanting Airbnb, nestled conveniently close to all the wonders this city has to offer.

Let's talk about the food. Oh, the food! From succulent feijoada to tantalizing caipirinhas, every bite was a symphony of flavors that danced on my taste buds. It's no wonder they say that Brazil is a culinary haven, and Rio is its crown jewel.

Now, about the language. Portuguese reigns supreme here, my darlings! Stepping out of the airport, I quickly realized that a sprinkle of English won't cut it. But fear not, for every attempt at speaking their beautiful language was met with warmth and patience.

I, along with 2 locals that have become friends. Both of these ladies are from Rio de Rio De Janeiro

And oh, the beaches! Copacabana, Ipanema — names that conjure visions of golden sands and azure waters. And the people? Let's just say, the term "Brazilian beauty" is no exaggeration. With their sun-kissed skin and radiant smiles, it's no wonder Brazilians are the epitome of allure.

But here's the kicker, loves: Rio won't break the bank. With Uber rides cheaper than a cup of coffee and a favorable currency conversion, you'll find yourself living large on a budget. So, pack your bags, practice your Portuguese, and get ready for the adventure of a lifetime in Rio de Janeiro!
